What If…
If you read Least Expected, you know of two well-known characters, Summer and Matt. What you don’t know, is their story. However, that could change soon.
Chloe and Reed were dynamic, their story unfolded swimmingly. Little Colton captured everyone’s hearts, don’t lie, you know he did. The trauma, the stalking, the struggle to overcome our pasts, all led to a happy ending.
Important Yet My Opinion
I love Summer and Matt. I knew that when I made their characters in Least Expected, I would have so much fun building theirs. Matt holds a close place in my heart, I’m not sure why quiet yet, but I feel protective of his character.
What does ‘What If’ look like?
Now, it’s time that we look into two people who played a part in helping Chloe and Reed find their way. Summer and Matt met when Matt joined the St. Louis NHL team. She was the happy, bubbly physical therapist while Matt was the golden retriever forward who fell a little too hard and fast.
Towards the end of the season, the team was facing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, while Summer was facing issues closer to home. Matt could tell that Summer was not herself and strived to do everything in his power to make sure she was okay. Through late-night funny videos, and coffee and breakfast deliveries, their friendship blossoms to more.
Now, I will preface, that Summer goes through her issues the same as Chloe. Yet, there is no ex or abuse. However, when these struggles come out, Matt isn’t the only one protecting Summer, and so is Reed. Because family is family.
We meet Chloe shortly as she goes through her early stages of pregnancy with Colton.
I love how I have webbed the two stories together, bridging the connections together.
So, what’s the next step?
Head over to my social media to see some great character boards and get into the feels. Right now we are in the editing phases of ‘What If’. My goal is to have it all done and ready for your eyes before Memorial Day. However, that’s a stretch, so don’t be surprised if it shows up before that.
